This year saw a huge change to Preschool and its management. Up until December 2022 we had run as a charity with parents forming a management committee. Still wishing to keep the “Not for Profit” ethos, the two head practitioners of the charitable preschool decided to set up a Community Interest Company. with them becoming the Managing Directors. This helps to ensure Preschool remains sustainable with regards to management for years to come.
We had many events through out the year. The summer term is always our busiest with May Day in Woodmancote, Sports Day, The “Summer Sing a long” and the end of year party all being within weeks of each other. Our children always enjoy taking part in the May Day procession and celebrations, this year’s theme was “Dance” and we won a prize for the best group.
Sports Day gives the children opportunity to have lots of fun with their friends, whilst their families can watch them take part in fun races – It really is the taking part not who wins that is important on our Sports Day. Each child taking part leaves proudly wearing their medal.
The Summer Sing A Long used to be called the Leavers Concert. We changed the name as all children at Preschool can take part and adults can join in if they wish. We love singing at Preschool, it is a very important part of children’s development. At the sing a long we sing the songs we have enjoyed singing through out the year.
The end of year party is always a mixture of happiness and a few tears. We get together to celebrate our time together and say goodbye to those of us who are moving on.
We are looking forward to our new academic year and welcoming our new children to the Preschool family. We are also welcoming two new members of staff to the team. Exciting times ahead.
