Recently Gloucestershire County Council decided that Bishops Cleeve and surrounding area needed to increase the number of early years spaces available. They have awarded 106 money (money developers pay to the local authority) to local schools, including Woodmancote Primary School. The money was awarded subject to strict conditions, the main one being that, due to a large predicted increase in local population, schools had to provide additional spaces to cater for new families moving to the area.
Woodmancote Preschool will continue to run from the village hall, as it has done for nearly 50 years. Preschool has been at the heart of the communitiy and has provided continuity of care for local families. We now have the grandchildren of our original families attending preschool. We have one of the best outdoor spaces in the county with access to the field, park and surrounding countryside. We also have a safe, fenced off Forest School area. We are able to adapt our inside space to suit the needs and interests of our children. There is ample, onsite parking to allow for safe drop off and pick up.
Our children and their families are at the heart of everything we do, including being managed by parents. We have caring enthusiastic staff that know and understand your children. We are lucky to have a qualified Early Years teacher working with our children during every session.
Preschool continues to have a good relationship with Woodmancote Primary School and there are plans for additional links to be developed. The staff and committee have plans to revamp our indoor space, which we are excited about.
